(North Dundas) – On 20Nov14 the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) responded to complaints of males trespassing on the Nation Valley All-Terrain Vehicle Club (NVATVC) trails in North Dundas Township. The two males from North Grenville were located and charged with trespassing under the Trespass To Property Act (TTPA).
Trespassing on the NVATVC trails continues to be a problem in North Dundas Township. The SD&G OPP would like to remind everyone to respect the rules of the NVATVC as well as the laws described in the Off Roads Vehicle Act (ORVA). This includes:
– staying off trails when they are marked as closed
– staying off the trails if you do not have the correct trail passes, safety equipment and documentation for the ATV.
Failure to comply with these rules can result in the access and rights to the trails being revoked, charges under the TTPA, charges under the ORVA or even criminal charges of mischief under the Criminal Code of Canada.
