(EAST-ZORRA TAVISTOCK TOWNSHIP, ON.) – On December 6, 2014 at approximately 5:55 a.m. Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fire on Tropicana Crescent in Sun Park Hidden Valley on Highway 59 North in East -Zorra Tavistock Township.
On December 6 and 7, 2014, the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) along with Oxford County OPP members conducted a search warrant at the residence.
Seized from the residence were cannabis marihuana, hashish, and prescription pills, with an estimated value of $1,802.
As a result of the investigation 40 year old Andrew MILES of East-Zorra Tavistock Township has been charged with the following:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Other
Drugs (2 counts) ~ Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – over 30 grams ~ CDSA
Produce a Schedule II Substance (other than marihuana) ~ CDSA
Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis resin – over 1 gram ~ CDSA
Mischief Endangering Life ~ Criminal Code of Canada
Fail to Comply with Recognizance ~ Criminal Code of Canada ( 6 counts)
The male is being held in custody.
The Fire Marshall is continuing with the fire investigation.
