(Russell Township, Ontario) – On December 16, 2014, members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB)- Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) – Project Paradigm and Russell County Detachment (Embrun) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) stopped a vehicle near Limoges Road in Russell Township (ON) resulting in the seizure of a significant amount of Methamphetamine (Speed) tablets.
Police seized 2,970 Methamphetamine tablets (Speed). The rectangular shape tablets had “UFC†logo embossed on them.
Police also seized $790 cash in Canadian Currency.
The projected street value of the seized drugs is estimated at approximately $15,000
Michael WRIGHT (28) and Tanya Lee ROWEN (32) of Ottawa (ON) were arrested and charged with the following:
Possession of Schedule I (Methamphetamine) for the purpose of Trafficking C.D.S.A. Section 5(2)
Tanya Lee ROWEN was also charged for Possession of Schedule II (cannabis marihuana) CDSA 4(1)
ROWEN was later released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking given to an Officer in Charge. She is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, L’Orignal on January 21, 2015.
WRIGHT was held for Bail Hearing set for December 17th 2014 in L’Orignal (ON).
