Shooting Incident – One Sent To Hospital

(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation Police with the assistance Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit is investigating a shooting incident resulting in minor injuries Saturday morning.

On January 3, 2015 at approximately 8:40 a.m. police responded to a report of an injured male from an apparent gunshot wound on Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation. The male was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have learned that there was an apparent altercation outside a residence involving two adult males when the one of the males allegedly shot the other involved party causing minor injury.

As a result of the investigation, police have two suspects in custody facing a number of charges.

The identities of the suspects will be released at a later time.

The investigation was conducted with the assistance of members of the Oxford County OPP Crime Unit, Elgin County OPP Crime Unit, Perth County OPP Crime Unit and Munsee Delaware Police Service.
