The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 65 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15001578
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.

On June 28, 2014, the man became involved in a verbal argument with a female relative on Park Street in Chatham. The man demanded money from the woman and when she denied his request, he threatened her while holding a pocket knife then cut up a pair of her shoes. The man was arrested and charged with uttering threats, being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and mischief under $5000. He was released from custody with conditions pending a future court date.

On November 26, 2014, the man failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Yesterday morning, police located the man on Patteson Avenue in Chatham and he was arrested on the outstanding warrant. He was released pending a future court date of February 2, 2015.

Man and Woman Charged with Breaching their Release Conditions CK15001617 / CK15001619
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man and woman for failing to comply with their release conditions.

On May 14, 2014, the woman entered into a Probation Order with conditions not to associate or communicate with a specific Chatham man. On August 14 and September 8, 2014 the woman was released from custody with the same non-communication conditions.

Yesterday afternoon, police attended a residence on Mary Street in Chatham for an unrelated investigation. While in the apartment building, officers learned that the woman was in the company of the man and she was arrested.

The 22-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with two counts of failing to comply and breach of probation. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

While investigating the above mentioned incident, the man was also arrested. The 28-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with breach of probation for communicating with the woman. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place CK15001606
Just before 1:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police received information that a man was being belligerent with patrons at J&D Bowling on Young Street in Tilbury. Officers located the man who was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The 53-year-old Tilbury man was arrested for his own safety and transported to police headquarters.

He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and released when sober.

Break and Enter CK15001638
Sometime last night between 5:15 p.m. and 10:25 p.m. unknown suspect(s) entered a residence on Oak Street in Wallaceburg and stole a 32” Toshiba flat screen TV, black Xbox 360 slim and various Xbox games valued at $500.

A suspicious man was observed in the area. He was wearing a black hoodie, carrying a black backpack and was riding a black bike with curved handlebars.
