Jay GARSIDE – Drunk Driving

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On January 20, 2015, just before 8:00 a.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a Honda Civic on Highway 401 eastbound near Victoria Road, for a speed violation.

While the officer was speaking with the driver, 58 year old Jay GARSIDE, from Burlington, it was determined that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages. The officer also observed open alcohol in the vehicle.

Subsequent tests indicated that the driver was over the legal limit and he will appear in a Chatham court on February 6, 2015, to answer to the following charges:

Driving With More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol In Blood, under the Criminal Code of Canada

Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

Driving Motor Vehicle With Open Container Of Liquor, under the Liquor Licence Act
