(THUNDER BAY, ON) On Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at approximately 11:55 pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Kaministiquia Volunteer Fire department responded to a tractor trailer fire on Highway 102, just west of Silver Falls Road.
A tire on the trailer caught fire causing the loss of the trailer and the contents which consisted of mail items. The tractor was immediately detached from the trailer preventing it from catching fire as well. There were no injuries reported. Highway 102 was closed for approximately 3 hours while the fire department extinguished the fire.
