James SNELL – Drunk Driving

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On March 22, 2015 members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised that a possible impaired driver was travelling southbound on Highway 400 towards Parry Sound. Police patrolled the area and observed the black pickup on Parry Sound Drive in Parry Sound. Police initiated a traffic stop and determined the driver had consumed alcohol.

As a result of the officer’s investigation, James SNELL, 58 years of age from Scarborough, was arrested and charged with the following:

1. Driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code (CC)

2. Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol, contrary to the (CC)

3. Drive motor vehicle with liquor readily available contrary to the Liquor Licence Act (LLA)

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on April 16, 2015 to answer to his charges.

The OPP is reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
