Shortly after 4:00pm on Saturday, Barrie Police responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of Penetang and St Vincent St. An eastbound vehicle left the roadway, struck a hydro pole and came to rest the front lawn of a residence. Police spoke to the driver and found that she was highly intoxicated. She was arrested and transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre where she was treated for minor injuries. The female then refused to provide breath samples. A 51 year old Hawkestone woman was charged with impaired driving and refusing to provide breath samples. Her licence has been suspended for 90 days and she faces a future court date.
