Russell County Weekly Release

(RUSSELL COUNTY, ON) In the week of March 30, 2015 to April 7, 2015, Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 253 occurrences. Among those occurrences OPP responded to 12 collisions, 4 thefts, 4 domestics and one impaired driver.

As a result of those occurrences, 22 people were charged with various offences.

Impaired Driver

(Rockland, ON) On March 30, 2015 OPP Constables responded to a driving complaint on County Road 17 in Rockland. A motorist reported following a vehicle that was not being driven correctly. The vehicle was located and stopped by the officers. They detected a smell of alcohol coming from the driver. The female driver failed the Roadside Screening device test. She was transported to the OPP detachment were she provided more breath tests. The results exceeded the permitted legal limit.

Manon GEOFFRO, 43 years old form Rockland will have to appear in L’Orignal court on April 15, 2015 to answer to the following charges:

CC 253(1)(a) Driving While Ability Impaired- motor vehicle (Alcohol)

CC 253(1)(b) Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood

Threats

(Hammond, ON) On March 31, 2015 OPP Constables responded to threat incident at St-Francis Xavier School in Hammond. At that location a female student reported receiving a threat by an adult male while at a sporting event at the school. The OPP investigated the complaint and concluded than an offence had been committed.

Peter MCDERMID, 49 years old from Rockland will have to appear in L’Orignal court on May 6, 2015 to answer to the following charge:

CC 264.1(1)(a) Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm

Liquor Violation

(Embrun, ON) On April 3, 2015 OPP Constables responded to an unwanted person incident on St-Thomas Road in Embrun. At that location a Taxi driver reported having problems with an intoxicated passenger. The officer attended location and dealt with the uncooperative male. He was transported to the OPP detachment where he was later released on a provincial offence notice.

Claude GRIECKEN, 54 years old from Rockland was served a provincial offence notice for the following infraction:

LLA 31(4) Being intoxicated in public place

Domestic

(Embrun, ON) On April 5, 2015 OPP constable responded to a domestic related incident that would have taken place on Larose Lane in Embrun. At that location a male and female were involved in a verbal dispute that turned into a physical dispute. The officer investigated the complaint and concluded that an offence had taken place.

A 21 year old male, from Embrun will have to appear in L’Orignal court on April 22, 2015 to answer to the following charge:

CC 430(4) Mischief – Domestic

(Casselman, ON) On April 5, 2015 OPP Constables responded to a domestic related incident on Route 600 East in Casselman. At that location a male and female were engaged in a dispute when the female was assaulted by her partner.

A 24 year old male, from Casselman will have to appear in L’Orignal court on April 22, 2015 to answer to the following charges:

CC 266 Assault – Spousal

CC 430(4) Mischief – Domestic

(Clarence-Rockland, ON) On April 5, 2015 OPP constable responded to a domestic related incident on Du Golf Road in Clarence-Rockland. At that location a couple were travelling in their vehicle when an argument started. The male decided to exit the vehicle. When exiting the vehicle the female driver started to go forward and the male was injured by the vehicle in motion.

A 35 year old female, from Ottawa will have to appear in L’Orignal court on April 22, 2015 to answer to the following charge:

CC 267(a) Assault with a Weapon – Spousal
