Bank Robbery – Photo Of Suspect Released

(EAST-ZORRA TAVISTOCK, ON.) – On April 9, 2015 at approximately 3:03 p.m. Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to the report of a robbery at the Scotiabank located on Woodstock Street in Tavistock.

Investigation indicates that an unknown male entered the bank and demanded money. A confrontation occurred and the male fled from the building.

Perth County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded along with Tavistock Fire Department to assist with the scene. One male employee was transported by EMS to an area hospital with minor injuries and was later released.

The male suspect is described as follows:

Male, black

5 foot 9 inches

Age is early 20’s

Slim build

Wearing grey sweat pants, black puffy short coat, a black hood with a black ball cap peak underneath, black gloves, black shoes and a white shirt

The West Region Canine Unit, West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), The OPP Forensic Identification Unit and the Oxford Criminal Investigation Unit and Highway Safety Division are assisting with the investigation.
