Members of the Guelph Police Service Drug Unit continue with Project Ice related investigations which is a project focused on reducing the availability of Crystal Meth within our community. This project began in December of 2014, leading to more than 20 people being arrested for drug trafficking related charges.
As a result of this ongoing initiative two more arrests were made on April 10, 2015. It is alleged that the arrested male and female have been involved in the transportation and distribution of crystal meth over multiple jurisdictions. A search subsequent to their arrest discovered nine baggies of Crystal meth with a street value of $5,800, over $3,000 cash, a digital scale, debt list, multiple cell phones, a radar detector and open liquor. The male was further found to be in possession of credit card data for numerous persons.
A subsequent CDSA search warrant at the residence of the female in Holstein Ontario, resulted in the further seizure of another $280 worth of crystal methamphetamine.
Regginold Magsanoc, 32 years of Toronto has been charged with 9 counts of breach of probation, 7 counts of possessing credit card data, 2 counts of breach recognizance and possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was also charged with driving a motor vehicle while suspended under the Highway Traffic Act.
Meaghann Heffernan, 31 years of Holstein has been charged with 4 counts of breach of probation and one count of possession of a controlled substance. She was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with a radar detector under the Highway Traffic Act and driving a vehicle with open liquor under the Liquor Licence Act.
Both will be back in court on April 13, 2015.
2. Disturbance leads to injury and arrest
On April 12, 2015 at 8:00 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Paisley Road residence for a disturbance call. Police located one male with a head injury who required medical attention. It is alleged that the two males who are known to each other were involved in an argument when the injured male was struck in the head with an object. Police arrested the male that caused the injury. This investigation is ongoing.
A 23-year-old Guelph man has been charged with assault with a weapon and breach probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on April 13, 2015.
3. Impaired drivers arrested
On April 11, 2015 at 1:27 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on the Hanlon Expressway. Police spoke with the female driver, determined she had been drinking alcohol and she was arrested.
Barbara Crescentini, 35 years of Woodbridge has been charged with impaired driving, drive over 80mg and breach officer in charge undertaking. She will appear in court on April 28, 2015.
On April 12, 2015 at 1:25 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on College Avenue West. Police spoke with the male driver, determined that he had been drinking alcohol and he was arrested. During his arrest a small quantity of marihuana was discovered.
Mark Solomon, 33 years of Grand Valley has been charged with impaired driving, drive over 80mg and possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on May 1, 2015.
On April 12, 2015 at 2:54 a.m., the Guelph Police received the report of a possible impaired driver on Stone Road West. The vehicle was located on Gordon Street but failed to stop for police. The vehicle pulled into the driveway of a Gosling Gardens residence and the male ran into the home but was arrested by police.
Nicholas MacEachern, 23 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving, fail to provide breath sample, flight from police and breach probation. He will appear in court on May 29, 2015. He will appear in court on May 29, 2015.
