Justin MATHERS – Race Motor Vehicle

(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – On April 11, 2015, at approximately 6:15 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting mobile radar patrol on Centre Road north of Egremont Drive, when a motorist was observed at a high rate of speed.

The officer measured the southbound motor vehicle, a brown Chevrolet car, to be travelling at more than 50 km over the posted speed limit.

The male driver, Justin MATHERS, age 24, from North Middlesex, Ontario, has been charged with race a motor vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The vehicle he was driving was impounded, and his driver’s licence was seized and suspended for 7 days, under the stunt driving legislation.

He was additionally charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with novice driver – B.A.C. above zero, and under the Liquor Licence Act (LLA) with driving a motor vehicle with open container of liquor.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the London courts to answer to the charges.
