Officer Has Finger Bitten

On April 29, 2015 at 2:30 p.m., Guelph Police officers on patrol downtown observed a female walking on Norfolk Street who was wanted on outstanding charges for breaches of her probation and recognizance. She ran from police which resulted in a short foot pursuit. As they attempted to arrest her, she bit the finger of one of the officers breaking the skin. She was then arrested without further incident.

A 20-year-old Guelph female has been charged with escape lawful custody, resist arrest, assault police cause bodily harm and breach of probation. She was also charged with the original charges of breach of probation and two counts of breach of her recognizance. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on April 30, 2015.
