Two Shoplifters Arrested

On April 29, 2015 at 9:40 p.m., the Guelph Police went to Walmart to assist with two shoplifters. It is alleged that two males had forced open the lock securing the vacuum cleaners. They removed six Dyson vacuum’s valued at over $5,000 and left the store. They were detained by security outside the store until police arrived. Further investigation alleges that the same two males were responsible for a theft from Walmart on October 19, 2014 where two 50’ televisions were stolen. Both males were arrested and charged for both incidents.

A 42-year-old Niagara Falls man has been charged with theft under $5,000, theft over $5,000, obstruct police and six counts of breach of recognizance.

A 30-year-old St. Catherine’s man has been charged with theft under $5,000, theft over $5,000 and two counts of breach of recognizance.

Both have been held in custody pending a bail hearing on April 30, 2015.
