(Augusta Township) On May 13, 2015 just before 10:00 pm Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Prescott members received reports of an eastbound vehicle traveling in the westbound lanes on the 401 highway from Maitland Rd.
Police observed the accused motor vehicle eastbound and approached with all emergency equipment activated. The vehicle did not slow. Police followed the fleeing suspect vehicle eastbound in the westbound lanes.
Officers were able to stop westbound traffic at Merwin Lane permitting an officer to stop the suspect vehicle and arrest the driver.
No injuries were sustained and damage to vehicles was minimal.
21 year old Mitchell TOWELL of Augusta Township has been charged with

249.1(1) CCC – Flight while Pursued by a Peace Officer
CDSA 4(1) – Possession of Cannabis Marihuana
