(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at approximately 12:02 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a collision after a wheel separated from a car and struck another vehicle on Hwy. 6/10 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
Investigation revealed that a 1998 Mercedes SLK was being operated southbound on Hwy. 6/10 when the front driver side wheel separated from the car and struck a north bound vehicle, a 2015 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck. The Toyota had sustained extensive damage as a result.
There were no injuries reported.
The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and the College of Trades, who are investigating the incident, were contacted after it was disclosed to police that the Mercedes had recent tire work done on it.
