(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – On May 27, 2015 at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a family dispute at a home located on the Tenth Line of the Town of Erin. Police attended the residence and located a deceased woman. A male has been arrested in relation to her death.
The victim has been identified as Elizabeth FISCHER age 82 of Erin. Her husband Frank FISCHER age 82 of Erin has been charged with Second Degree Murder and will appear in Guelph Criminal Court on May 28, 2015.
A post mortem examination is scheduled to be performed on May 29, 2015.
Wellington County OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate this incident under the direction of Acting Detective Inspector Andy RAFFAY of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
A number of OPP resources have been utilized to assist with the investigation including Wellington County Canine Unit, West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), West Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the West Region Support Unit.
