Catering Trailer Stolen From Highway Rest Area

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On Saturday, May 30, 2015 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a stolen trailer report. The trailer, which was modified and used as a catering/food trailer, was stolen from a rest area on Hwy. 89 in the Township of Southgate sometime between 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 29th and 8:30 a.m., Saturday, May 30th, by unknown person(s).

The trailer was left in the rest area after the owner had experienced mechanical issues with his pickup truck. When he returned the following morning, the trailer, which had a tongue lock affixed to it, was gone.

The stolen trailer, described as a 2012 Homemade trailer, VIN: 335386473, with Ontario plate K6965L, was approximately 11 feet long. It was constructed of stainless steel with a diamond pattern and was equipped with a built in kitchen, which included a BBQ, oven, stove, fridge, microwave and water heater. The trailer is valued between $30,000 – $40,000.

Grey County OPP, with the assistance of the Grey County Crime Unit, is investigating the theft.
