(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On May 27, 2015, the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop to ensure the sobriety of the driver on Great North Road in Parry Sound. At approximately 1:57 a.m., while conducting the traffic stop, officers detected the odour of cannabis marihuana. As a result of the police investigation, cannabis marihuana was seized.
The passenger, Jessica ROBERTS, 26 years of age from Barrie, was arrested and has been charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams as per the Controlled Drug Substance Act (CDSA).
The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound to answer to her charge.

MALE ARRESTED FOR STUNT DRIVING
(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On May 29, 2015, the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting stationary radar on Highway 400 in Seguin Township. At approximately 9:40 a.m., a southbound car was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and as a result was stopped for “Stunt Driving”.
The driver, Mathieu ROY, 24 years of age from Sudbury, was arrested and has been charged with:
1. Race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario (HTA).
2. Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit contrary to the HTA.
His Ontario Drivers Licence has been suspended for seven days and the vehicle he was operating was also seized for seven days.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on June 23, 2015.

MALES CHARGED WITH DRUGS AT RIDE STOP
(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On May 29, 2015 members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E (Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere) checks on Clear Lake Road in Seguin Township. Police approached a car and observed a tray of cannabis marihuana seedlings and a butt end of a firearm in the back seat.
As a result of the officer’s investigation, Justin PHILLIPS, 27 years of age from Brampton, was arrested and charged with:
Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – over 30 grams as per the Controlled Drug Substance Act (CDSA).
Produce a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – as per the CDSA.
Unauthorized possession of a firearm contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
The passenger, Gary PHILLIPS, 65 years of age from Seguin Township, was arrested and charged with:
Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams as per the CDSA.
Produce a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – as pre the CDSA.
Unauthorized possession of a firearm contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
Passenger fails to properly wear seatbelt contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
Both accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on July 9, 2015.
