(Bancroft, Ontario) – During the early morning hours on the 30th of May 2015, officers with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) responded to a report of an overdue 17 year-old female, last known to be at a social gathering on Lower Faraday Road in Faraday Township.
Police attended the location and learned the female was last seen in a nearby wooded area. The OPP Canine and Emergency Response Units were deployed, however, the female was located prior to their arrival.
Once located, the female disclosed that she had been sexually assaulted by another person in attendance at the party.
Police arrested and charged a 15 year-old male from the town of Bancroft with sexual assault. He was released on an Undertaking with conditions, and is to appear in Bancroft Youth Court in July of 2015.
The name of the accused is being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
