(Otonabee-South Monaghan Township, ON) – Members of the Highway Safety Division of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Highway 7 Sunday afternoon just after 12:30pm with no visible licence plates.
The male driver gave a false name and was arrested until he could be properly identified. Once in custody, the male was identified by police as: Taliesin AMLER-FALZETTA (age 25) of Brampton, Ontario.
The accused has been charge with the following offences under the provisions of the Criminal Code of Canada:
Obstruct police officer
Public mischief
Under the provisions of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA):
Fail to surrender licence
Drive with no plates
Fail to surrender permit
Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
Drive while suspended
Under the provision of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA):
Owner drive with no insurance
The accused was held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing scheduled for today at the Peterborough Provincial Court house.
