(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment have charged a 26 year old male after police investigated a motor vehicle collision at a Simcoe Street, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Monday, June 29, 2015 at approximately 6:47 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles at the entrance of the Simcoe Mall west of Highway 3, Courtland, Ontario.
While officers were on scene one of the vehicles involved in the collision fled from the area almost striking the officer. The fleeing motor vehicle failed to stop when police activated their emergency equipment. The vehicle travelled south bound on Jackson Side Road and entered the ditch after attempting to make a turn.
The driver of the motor vehicle was subsequently taken into custody without further incident.
Charged with the following offences is 26 year old Christopher Steven SIMMONS of Bayham, Ontario.
· Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
· Flight while pursued by Peace Officer
· Impaired driving
· Driving over the legal limit
· Fail to comply with probation order
· Drive motor vehicle- no licence
He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
