Female Injured While In Police Custody – SIU Invoke Mandate

(CENTRE WELLLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On July 27, 2015 at 9:15 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a residence on Roger Court in Centre Wellington Township to investigate a 911 call.

On arrival officers spoke to the female caller. After a brief interaction it was determined that she needed medical attention for health concerns. The female reported an injury after being taken into police custody and was assessed at a local hospital.

The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) was notified and has invoked its mandate. As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any inquiries should be directed to the SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
