Family Dog Stolen From Locked Cage

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating an incident after police were called to a Gilbert Road, Woodhouse, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Saturday, August 15, 2015 at approximately 9:50 p.m., police were contacted by a concerned homeowner after their family dog was taken from the property.

Through investigation it was determined that at approximately 8:30 p.m., unknowns attended the residence and removed a 1-year-old black coloured Labrador retriever from a locked cage located on the property.

The homeowner observed a vehicle leaving the driveway and is being described as a black coloured Chevrolet Avalanche with dark tinted windows and black coloured rims with a chrome strip on the door just under the windows.

Several family members have searched the area for their dog however all attempts to locate him where unsuccessful. The owners are concerned due to dog needing medication for an illness. If not property medicated their dog could become extremely ill.

The Norfolk County OPP is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
