(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH) – On Friday, the 21st of August 2015, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Nottawasaga Detachment Crime Unit, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau- Drug Enforcement Unit, Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) with the assistance of the Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine and Aviation Services, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant on the 2nd Line of New Tecumseth Township.
Officers arrested two persons in a residence for cultivation of marihuana. A search of the property revealed:
A substantial cannabis marihuana grow operation,
A large of amount of Cannabis Marihuana Bud
A quantity of cash
Wilfred EMONTS aged 59 and a 63 year old woman both of the Town of New Tecumseth are charged with cultivation of marihuana and possession for the purposes of trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Wilfred EMONTS was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for production of marihuana and failing to appear in court. Mr. EMONTS will appear in court for a bail hearing this afternoon.
Investigation is continuing.
