(ORILLIA, ON.) – The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating an assault that occurred in the City of Orillia.
On August 22, 2015 at approximately 8:30 a.m., Orillia OPP was dispatched to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital where a male and female had arrived with stab wounds. Both parties were treated and released. The parties stated that they had little memory of what had occurred but they advised that the incident took place in the area of Couchiching Beach Park. They also advise that the suspect was not known to them.
The Orillia OPP Crime Unit would like to advise the public that they do not believe that this was a random act and that there is no immediate threat to public safety.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the stabbing to contact the OPP.
