(Bancroft, Ontario) – A short time after midnight on the 29th of August 2015, officers with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) observed a motor vehicle speeding and driving in an erratic manner on Highway #62, just north of the town of Bancroft. Officers pulled the vehicle over, and after investigation determined that the male driver was impaired by alcohol.
While dealing with the driver, a female passenger in the vehicle became agitated and difficult with police, resulting in her being arrested for public intoxication. During the arrest, the female continued to be uncooperative and assaulted the officers. Both parties were transported to the Bancroft O.P.P. Detachment.
31 year old Michael McCOLLOUGH of Burlington was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood. He was released the following morning on a Promise to Appear Notice with a first appearance in Bancroft court set for the 13th of October 2015.
26 year old Amy Lynch of South Algonquin Township was charged with resisting a peace officer and assaulting a peace officer. She was released on a Promise to Appear Notice and Undertaking, with a first appearance in Bancroft court set for the 29th of September 2015.
