Armed Home Invasion – Locked Doors Not Enough Anymore

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a home invasion at a Colborne Street North, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at approximately 8:12 a.m., police responded to the address after an unknown male attended the residence and forcibly gained entry.

Investigation determined that a suspect attended the address and forced the rear door of the residence open. He was then confronted by the homeowners at which time the male displayed a weapon and began walking through the residence before fleeing.

The occupants of the home were not injured as a result of this incident and immediately contacted police.

The suspect fled westbound towards Talbot Street and is being described as male, black, approximately 30 years of age, wearing dark coloured clothing.

The Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
