(MOOSONEE, ON) – The Moosonee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking for the assistance of the public in relation to a mischief to one of their vehicles.
In the early hours of September 9, 2015 members of the Moosonee OPP were on general patrol when they observed that one of their Chevrolet Suburban’s, which had been parked at Two Bay Enterprise Garage, had been damaged. The vehicle was towed back to the Detachment where it was secured. All windows on the vehicle, with the exception of the driver’s side, had been smashed. Damages are estimated to be in the thousands of dollars.
The Moosonee OPP asks that any person with information that could assist them with this investigation immediately contact the Moosonee OPP Detachment at (705) 336-2320 or 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
Police vehicles are a vital tool for officers to respond to calls for service. Since Moosonee is an isolated community the vehicle will have to be taken out of service for an extended period of time for damages to be repaired.
