(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On Friday, September 11, 2015 at approximately 5:32 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a concerned motorist regarding a 2008 Ford Fusion vehicle being driven erratically west bound on Grey Rd. 4, west of Grey Rd. 124 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. The vehicle was observed weaving and being driven at variable speeds; forcing two eastbound vehicles onto the shoulder in order to avoid a collision.
The suspect vehicle was stopped on Sideroad 35 after and it was determined that the lone driver had been drinking alcohol. He was arrested for impaired driving.
The driver, who falsely identified himself to police, was found to be disqualified from driving as a result of a previous impaired driving conviction.
Joshua Daniel MORRISON, 31, of Biggar, Saskatchewan was charged with multiple offences, including Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle; Over 80 mgs; Obstruct Police Officer, Personation with Intent to Avoid Arrest, Dangerous Driving, No Insurance; Invalid Plate and Distracted Driving.
The vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
He was held for a bail hearing. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 16, 2015 in Owen Sound.
