Toddler Found Walking Down Street By Good Samaritan

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment was contacted by an alert citizen at an Elgin Avenue, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Monday, September 14, 2015 at approximately 10:43 a.m., an alert citizen noticed a young toddler walking down the street in the area of Union Street and Queen Street. The citizen approached the toddler and immediately attended a nearby school and contacted police.

Through the course of investigation, it was determined that the 3-year-old female exited her residence and began to walk down the street when an alert community member noticed her. Officers attended the area and began to knock on doors of several homes, in an attempt to locate the toddler’s parents. Police subsequently located the mother of the child who was extremely upset and returned her daughter.

“The Norfolk County OPP Detachment wanted to take this opportunity to thank the concerned citizen that located this young child and for their quick actions in contacting the police. As a result, she was safely returned home to her family,” comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.
