School Goes Into Lockdown – Another To Hold And Secure

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating 2 separate incidents at local secondary schools.

At 1:10 pm, a Mayfield Secondary School student contacted the administration to report that he had received a digital photo of a weapon. The Caledon OPP are currently investigating the occurrence but can confirm that no threat was made. The school remains in lockdown mode along with neighbouring school James Grieve Public School (which houses Castle Oaks Public School and Countryside Village Public School) as the police continue their investigation.

At 1:12 pm, a robbery occurred in a park adjacent to Humberview Secondary School. As a result, one of the two victims was assaulted. Police have a suspect and can confirm that he/she is not a Humberview student. Humberview Secondary School remains in hold and secure state. Neighbouring school James Bolton remains in hold and secure as well.

Both investigations are currently ongoing and more information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
