Two Collisions Result In Impaired Charges

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 118 near Spring Lake Road in Bracebridge on Saturday morning, September 19th, 2015 at 4:00 a.m. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a sign and came to rest. The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to South Muskoka Memorial Hospital.

Police conducted an investigation into the collision and subsequently arrested and charged 56 year-old Bruce STOKES of Bracebridge with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle CC 253(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 253 (1)(b). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 13th, 2015 to answer to his charges. The accused received an immediate 90 day driver’s licence suspension and further had his vehicle towed and impounded.

On Sunday, September 20th, 2015 shortly before 6:30 p.m. police responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 118 near Oakley Crescent in Bracebridge.

Police conducted an investigation into the collision and subsequently arrested and charged 53 year-old Wendy CAMERON of Peterborough with Care/Control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired CC 253(1)(a) and Refusing to Provide a Breath Sample CC 254(5). She was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Monday, September 21st, 2015 where she pled guilty to both offences. She received a $1000 fine for each offense and a one year driving prohibition.
