(WILNO, ON) – On September 22, 2015 just before 9:00 AM, officers of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident on Szczipior Road, WILNO, ON. Upon arrival officers located an adult female deceased.
As a result of information they received during the ongoing investigation, officers attended a second location, a residence located on Foymont Road where a second adult female was located deceased.
At approximately 11:10AM, Bancroft OPP officers responded to a residence on Kamaniskeg Lake Road locating a third adult female deceased.
At approximately 2:30 PM, Ottawa Police officers arrested the 57-year-old suspect at a location near Kinburn, ON. He is being held in custody to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke in the afternoon of Wednesday, September 23, 2015.
Post mortem examinations for the victims have been scheduled to occur in Ottawa on September 23, 2015.
OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) and Aviation Services with the assistance of the Ottawa Police Services searched for the armed male suspect. Several locations between Wilno and Ottawa were secured as a precautionary measure.
The Killaloe and Renfrew OPP Crime Units, under the direction of A/D/Inspector Mark Zulinski, Detective Inspector Rob Hagerman and Detective Inspector Dave Robinson, Criminal Investigation Branch, with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit (FISU) are continuing the investigation.
