(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – On September 30, 2015, at approximately 7:35 a.m. the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Adelaide-Metcalfe Fire Department responded to a single motor vehicle crash on Kerwood Road at McKenzie Street.
A maroon Hummer SUV was travelling northbound on Kerwood Road when it left the roadway, and struck a pole on the west side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck and damaged the St. Paul Anglican Church, which was vacant at the time. A damage estimate has not yet been determined.
The lone occupant, a 36-year-old female driver, was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries, and subsequently released.
As a result of the police investigation, Kerri BLOOMFIELD, from Adelaide Metcalfe, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol and drug), and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She was further charged with possession of schedule I substance – cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to appear in the London courts on November 27, 2015, to answer to the charges.
