(THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ON) On Saturday October 10, 2015 at approximately 6:00pm officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to attend to the Blue Mountain Resort in regards to an incident on a mountain biking trail.
Investigation found that a male cyclist was mountain biking down a trail known as the Haole Trail at Blue Mountain Resort when, for an unknown reason, he exited the trail and collided with a tree nearby. He was discovered by another cyclist, who then notified Blue Mountain Resort staff of the incident. Staff members, ambulance and police were dispatched and despite resuscitation efforts by responders at scene, the male cyclist died as a result of his injuries.
The victim can now be identified as 58 year-old Danny GRANT of Halton Hills, Ontario.
