(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On November 7, 2015 at approximately 11:41 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road, Guelph. A male driving a 2005 Mazda was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 145 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. Also he did not have the proper drivers licence.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
21-year-old Timothy MAGONDO of Milton has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle and Class G1 licence holder-Unaccompanied by a Qualified Driver contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on December 2, 2015.
