(Oro-Medonte, ON) – Members from the Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police investigated into a single vehicle collision that occurred shortly before 8:47 AM this morning on County Rd 11 (Old Barrie Rd) in Oro-Medonte Twp.
A 2000 Honda was travelling westbound on Old Barrie Rd when it left the roadway and rolled into the ditch. The driver was transported to local area hospital with no life threatening injuries after being ejected from the vehicle. Further investigation indicated that the driver was suspended from driving.
Jacob BUCHANAN, 26 years of age, of Gravenhurst, was charged with the Highway Traffic Act offences of failing to wear a seatbelt, driving while suspended, careless driving and using plates unauthorized for vehicle.
The accused will appear in court, in Barrie, on January 11th, 2016.
