A 55 year old Lucknow area man is facing charges of Careless Driving and Using a Hand Held Communication Device following a collision involving three vehicles on Josephine Street in Wingham last night. A six year old child was transported to Wingham and District Hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries. Investigation revealed that a vehicle crossed the centre of the road, striking two other vehicles, causing the air bags to deploy in one. Witnesses at the scene observed the man talking on a cell phone at the time of the collision.
Police would like to remind drivers to keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel when driving. Distracted driving is becoming a major cause for collisions.
