5 Vehicles Damaged In Collision

(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – Yesterday, Tuesday December 8th, 2015 around 11:15 a.m. Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers along with Fire and EMS responded to a report of a collision involving five vehicles. The collision occurred at Wellington Rd. and Ron McNeil Line, Central Elgin.

Investigation revealed that a 57-year-old St. Thomas man was traveling alone in his 2003 Chevy Silverado pick-up truck southbound on Wellington Rd approaching Ron McNeil Line when he traveled into the oncoming lane and then into the west ditch. The truck then stuck the rear portion of a 2004 Ford Focus that was stopped at the stop lights at Ron McNeil Line and Wellington Rd. The pickup truck then continued southbound and struck the Andrews Motorsport Business sign and then went on to strike three parked vehicles in the parking lot of Andrews Motorsports.

No one was injured in the collision which caused heavy damage to the five involved vehicles as well as extensive property damage.

Police continue to investigation the cause of the collision.
