(SAULT STE. MARIE, ON) – On December 11, 2015 at approximately 11:30 p.m. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division were conducting joint Festive RIDE spot checks with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service on St. Georges Avenue.
The driver of a car proceeding through the spot check was stopped. Investigation revealed the driver had been consuming alcohol. As a result of further police investigation, Jeffrey Lee DEWAR, 40 years, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
One count of Having care and control of a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol as per section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
The accused was release on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie on January 18, 2016.
