(PETROLIA, ON) – On December 16, 2015 the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) teamed up with their law enforcement partners! Members of the OPP, Sarnia Police Service, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and C.N. Police Service participated in a joint program at the intersection of Mandaumin Road and London Line, Plympton-Wyoming Township to Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E).
On Wednesday December 16, 2015 at approximately 6:40 p.m., a member of the Lambton County OPP observed a red pick-up truck approach the R.I.D.E. location. The officer noted that the vehicle did not have any licence plates as required by the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) of Ontario. As the suspect vehicle approached, it slowed but did not stop for police until police yelled at the pick-truck driver to stop. Police questioned the driver as to the location of the plates and during this conversation, police detected a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage on the breath of the driver and further observed an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. Police made a breath demand for the Approved Screening Device (ASD) to which the driver co-operated and provided a suitable sample resulting in a “FAIL.” The driver was consequently arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP – Petrolia Detachment for further breath testing which resulted in readings twice the legal limit.
As a result, 44 year-old Conrad Ralph RILEY of Bosanquet Township, ON was charged with,

The accused will appear in the Sarnia Ontario Court of Justice on Monday January 4, 2016.
The OPP is reminding drivers that any amount of alcohol or other drugs can impair one’s ability to drive. If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi, stay overnight or take public transit.
