Andrew TERRELL – Over 80

(HALIBURTON, ON) – On Sunday December 13, 2015 just shortly after 4:00pm officers from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were alerted to possible impaired driver on Highway 35 in the Township of Minden Hills.

Officers observed the vehicle in question parked in a vacant parking lot on the west side of Highway 35 at the intersection of County Road 21.

Investigation revealed that male driver had been consuming alcohol. Officers also seized a quantity of suspected marihuana.

Andrew TERRELL, 36 years of age from Halton Hills, ON was arrested and charged for the following offences:

· Care or Control while Impaired contrary to sec. 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

· Care or Control Over 80 mgs contrary to sec 253(1)(b) of the CC

· Possession of a Schedule II Substance-Cannabis Marihuana- over 30 grams contrary to sec 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

A 90 day driver’s licence suspension was issued and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused was released from custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden on February 3, 2016.
