Brent BOND – Drunk Driving

(HALIBURTON, ON) – On December 11, 2015 at approximately 9:50pm, members of the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol and observed a vehicle driving extremely slow on County Road 21 just east of Wonderland Road in the Township of Dysart et al.

Officers conducted a vehicle stop and upon speaking with the male driver, the officer detected the odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath. A roadside screening test was performed and the driver registered a fail. He was placed under arrest and was transported to the Haliburton Highlands OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result Brent BOND, 54 years of age from Dysart et al, has been charged with the following offences:

Drive while ability Impaired contrary to sec 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

Drive with more than 80 mgs contrary to sec 253(1)(b) of the CC

Drive while disqualified contrary to sec 259(4) of the CC

Driving while under suspension contrary to sec 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

Use plate not authorized for vehicle contrary to sec 12(1)(d) of the HTA

Operate motor vehicle without insurance contrary to sec 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA)

The accused was released from custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden on February 3, 2016.
