(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On December 31, 2015, members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised that a male was running a chainsaw in a residential area cutting wood. As a result, a Lakeland Hydro poll was damaged.
When OPP approached the male, he became aggressive and assaultive towards police by striking an Officer with his fist. A Conducted Electrical Weapon (CEW) was deployed on the male – he continued to show aggressive behaviour by pushing an Officer and kicking another Officer in the shoulder and arm area.
As a result of police investigation, Christopher FORBES, 43 years of age from Parry Sound was arrested and charged with:
· Mischief under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code x4 (CC).
· Assault with intent to resist arrest x3 (CC).
He remains in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in
Parry Sound on December 31, 2015.
