(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On January 5, 2012 at approximately 10:10 p.m. the Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a male who had barricaded himself in a residence on 200 Block of Second Street East in Fort Frances, ON.
Members of the Rainy River District OPP are currently at the scene.
For the safety of the public, members of the Rainy River District OPP set up a perimeter surrounding the residence as the investigation continues. The OPP Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) was called in to provide support with containing the area. The OPP Crime Unit is assisting with the investigation.
The occurrence is in the early stages and the Rainy River District OPP are requesting members of the public refrain from attending the area of 200 Block of Second Street East, Fort Frances, for their safety and that of the officers at the scene until further notice.
