(LANSDOWNE ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) have charged an Ascot Corner, Quebec man following a child pornography investigation.
On January 14, 2016 members of the CBSA at the Lansdowne (Thousand Islands) Port of Entry conducted a search of the male entering Canada, pursuant to the Customs Act. As a result of the search, the male was found in possession of a child sexual abuse video stored on a laptop computer. He was subsequently arrested and the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit was notified to assist with the investigation (as per protocol). As a result of the investigation, the computer device was seized and is pending forensic analysis.
Andre DELAGE, age 30 years, of Ascot Corner Quebec is charged with one count of Importing Child Pornography and one count of Possession of Child Pornography pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was also charged with three Customs Act offences related to the importation of this material.
The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing on January 22, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville Ontario.
The investigation is continuing.
