(HURON EAST, ON) – A novice driver has been charged with several traffic violations after he was stopped by police this past weekend in Seaforth. At approximately 12:25 a.m. on January 30, 2016 officers from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment spotted a 4-door Honda pull up to the intersection of Market Street and Jarvis Street. Officers noted the front plate was not attached to the vehicle so a traffic stop was initiated.
While speaking with the driver police detected the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening test was performed and the driver registered a sample above zero. Further investigation revealed the driver did not have a permit for the vehicle, the vehicle was not plated and the motor vehicle was uninsured.
As a result, 19-year-old Cole GLANVILLE from Huron East has been charged with:
Novice Driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration (B.A.C) Above Zero
Drive Motor Vehicle – No Plates
Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance
Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming an Owner
The driver was also served with an automatic 24 hour drivers licence suspension and his motor vehicle was towed from the scene.
