During the week of the 08 February 2016, to the 15 February 2016, there were 89 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.
There were eighteen motor vehicle collisions, eight were animal related.
There were two domestic dispute calls for service during the week of the 08 February 2016, to the 15 February 2016. There was one domestic related incident involving criminal code charges.
Residential Break and Enter
On the 11 February 2016 at approximately 3:27 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jason Golds attended a residence on Mask Road in North Algona Wilberforce Twp. regarding a break and enter. The residence had been entered and various personal items and cash were stolen. The OPP Scenes of Crimes Officer attended the scene to photograph the area. The investigation is continuing. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Killaloe OPP or Crimestoppers.
Impaired Driving Charge
On the 13 February 2016 at approximately 7:56 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Cassibo and Constable Nisbet attended Highway # 60, and Twin Maple Lane in North Algona Wilberforce Twp. regarding a personal injury motor vehicle collision. Information indicated that one of the vehicles had rolled over and a female had been trapped inside. Police, along with the Fire Department, and the Ambulance attended the scene along with Ornge Air Ambulance. Highway # 60 was temporarily shut down to allow Ornge to land at the scene. Two persons were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. As a result of police investigation, 54 yr. old Wanda Mary Ann MARSHALL of North Algona Wilberforce Twp. is charged with Impaired Driving Section 253(1) (a), and Over 80, section 253(1) (b) contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a promise to appear with a court date.
Police Investigate Collisions
The Killaloe OPP was busy on the roadways with multiple collisions. On the 09 February 2016, at approximately 10:14 a.m., OPP Constable Ryan Szczygiel investigated a collision that occurred on River Road in Brudenell. Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle was towed. No charges were laid.
On the 09 February 2016 at approximately 5:19 p.m., OPP Constable Jordan Bullis attended Highway # 60 in North Algona Wilberforce Twp. to investigate a two vehicle collision. A 24 yr. old man from Laurentian Valley Twp. has been charged with Following Too Closely, section 158 (1) Highway Traffic Act. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed.
Stunt Driving Charges
On the 11 February 2016 at approximately 3:22 p.m., OPP Constable Jason Golds was operating moving radar on Highway # 41 in Bonnechere Valley Twp. A Nissan was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. Charged with Stunt Driving is 22 yr. old Jacy -Lyn DOUCETTE of Petawawa Ontario. The accused was given a summons to appear in court. Her license was suspended for seven days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
On the 14 February 2016 at approximately 1:25 p.m., OPP Constable Keith Jones was operating moving radar on Highway # 60 in South Algonquin Twp. A Dodge Durango was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. Charged with Stunt Driving is 32 yr. old Darren PILGRIM of Barrie Ontario. The accused was given a summons to appear in court. His license was suspended for seven days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Theft From Vehicle
On the 13 February 2016 at approximately 4:05 a.m., OPP Constable Ryan Lapierre received a report of theft from a vehicle on Bay Street in Madawaska Valley Twp. The vehicle had been entered and a GPS stolen. Police are reminding the public to “Lock it or Lose it.” Always roll up your vehicle windows, lock the doors, and pocket the keys when you park your car. Park in well-lit areas and never leave valuables in plain view.
Resist Arrest and Threats Charges
On the 14 February 2016, at approximately 6:52 p.m., OPP Constable Jason Golds attended an address on Veteran’s Way in Bonnechere Valley Twp. regarding a threat call. Police conducted an investigation into the occurrence after receiving information that a male had been drinking alcohol and was asked to leave the location. Upon the investigation, police arrested and charged 54 yr. old Yvon VILLENEUVE of Bonnechere Valley Twp. with Resisting Arrest, section 129(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada, Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm, section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order, section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused appeared in Bail Court on the 15 February 2016 at 9:30 a.m.
